A Heat Press is a process to imprint a design or graphic on a substrate, such as a t-shirt, with the application of heat and pressure.
There are two common forms of heat press:
Print-n-Cut heat transfer media designed to produce full color, high quality graphics that can be applied to virtually any fabric, including performance apparel. This media is designed to be printed using Solvent, Eco-Solvent or Pigment inks.
Cut Vinyl heat transfer media is designed for producing logos, numbers, letters and other graphic images on a variety of fabrics.
Screen Printed Shirts
Screen printing is a printing technique whereby a mesh is used to transfer ink onto a substrate. A blade or squeegee is moved across the screen to fill the open mesh apertures with ink. This causes the ink to wet the substrate and be pulled out of the mesh apertures as the screen springs back after the blade has passed. One color is printed at a time, so several screens can be used to produce a multicolored image or design. It is also known as silk-screen, screen, serigraphy, and serigraph printing.
Heat Pressed Hats
A Heat Pressing Hat is a similar process to t-shirts, but the press is designed for the contours of a hats. There are also many other materials that can be used to create one of a kind designs.
Hat pressing is an alternative to embroidering with a similar look without the cost and setup fees.
